Write Down What You Really Want
“Every good thought you think is contributing
its share to the ultimate result of your life.”
Grenville Kleiser
Our mind is like a well-oiled machine – our mind believes, and
deliberately acts on, what we think about. When we’re thinking
gratefully about what we’re thankful for in life, or thinking joyfully
about what we really want, more of what we want shows up.
Writing down what we really, really want is taking the power of our mind one step further.
Successful
people know one very important way to ensure they reach their goals is
to write them down, including specifics such as dates and exact
figures. We can also use this simple technique for our dreams and
anything we want in our daily lives.
I’ve used this method over the years for everything from
finding the perfect home to adding more adventure to my life. For
example, several years ago I wrote a long list of all the fun
activities I wanted to do in my lifetime, including:
- learn how to do yoga
- learn how to SCUBA dive
- learn how to ride a motorcycle
- learn how to swing dance
- learn how to rock climb
I hadn’t done any of these activities in the past, and had no
specific plan for including them in my life at the time; it was purely
a ‘wish list’.
One year later, I went back through my list,
and realized I had done almost everything I had written, including all
the items on this short list!
People came into my life at the
perfect time to introduce me to each of these activities, or I took
steps on my own towards them.
Write down your dreams, and read your list regularly – it’s an
extremely powerful way of putting your mind to work for you. And you’ll
begin noticing how your life starts lining up to achieve what you
really want!
Take 15 minutes to make a list of some of the things you’d
really, really like to be, do, or have in your lifetime. Do this right
now!
Review your list regularly. And start noticing what happens!
