Clear the Decks
for Unexpected Blessings
"Clearing clutter
is a very powerful practice that helps
to align you with the subtle and energetic realms.
When you look around your home and tune in with each item,
deciding if it's enhancing your energy or draining your energy,
you're powerfully fine-tuning your energy field
and the energy field of your home,
and "clearing the decks"
for magical blessings to swirl into your life."
Tess Whitehurst
Clearing out your clutter can seem like such a practical thing to do, doesn't it?
It can even feel like just one more task on your to-do list.
And some infinitely practical reasons for clearing clutter include
creating more space in your closets, cupboards, and drawers, getting
rid of items you no longer use, being able to find exactly what you
need right when you need it, and enjoying your environment a whole lot
more.
All very good, very practical reasons to go through your stuff and get rid of things.
But as great as these reasons are, they only scratch the surface of what's really happening when you clear your clutter.
First of all, when you clear clutter, you make conscious
decisions about what stays and what goes. This decision-making process
includes looking at your life, yourself, and your desires...which
starts uncovering who you truly are NOW.
And why is this important?
It's important because most people don't actually step back
from the busy-ness of their day-to-day lives to see what's really
important to them.
They can't see the forest for the trees, so to speak.
So when you step back and look at the stuff in your life,
you're also looking at your life itself. You're looking at what brings
you happiness. You're considering what you're interested in (and it may
be different than what you were interested in last year). You're
checking in with yourself to see what really matters to you.
Secondly, you start becoming much more selective about
everything in your life...the stuff you keep, the activities you
choose, how you spend your time, the people you spend your time with,
the work you do, and the thoughts you believe (and the thoughts you no
longer buy into because they aren't serving you).
You get to know yourself in a new way.
And almost as if by magic, you realize that other areas of your life
have started shifting as you clear out your physical clutter.
You may start speaking up at work differently, because you realize you have something important to say.
You may start taking better care of your health, because you
notice that you no longer want to clutter your body with unhealthy
foods or you feel like exercising differently.
You might find yourself gravitating towards the people in your
life who fully support you and encourage you in being just the way you
are...and gently start letting go of those who aren't really on your
side.
You may notice wonderful opportunities that you simply didn't have room for in your life before.
Clearing out clutter creates room for unexpected blessings...every single time.
Now doesn't that sound a lot more inspiring than simply making it a task on your to-do list? :)
