Garage Wall Storage
Garage wall storage helps you efficiently use the vertical space in
your garage (and makes it easy to find and access your stuff).
The more items you can get off the floor of your garage, the better.
This one step alone will keep your garage much neater and tidier,
especially if you designate a home for the items you store.
And since you have more wall space in your garage than floor space,
this is good news.
And there are so many great organizers that let you use all that
wonderful wall space:
- You can hang peg-board on the wall above your workbench to
hang tools.
This keeps them easy to find and put away, and keeps your tools within
reach. You've probably seen the handy trick of outlining the tools
hanging on the peg-board once you have arranged them the way you want
them -- this means you don't have to stop and wonder where to put away
each tool each time.
- You can easily hang bikes on the wall of your garage with
simple
wall-mounted racks or hooks.
- You can get a wall-mounted rack to
store batteries; these racks
will not only store up to several dozen batteries at a time, but
they'll also recharge them.
- You can install both open shelving and closed shelving
(otherwise known
as cupboards or cabinets) on your walls to store plastic bins, paint
cans, holiday decorations, potting soil, and all the other items that
make their way into the garage.
- You can hang wall-mounted racks for rakes, shovels, and
sporting
equipment like tennis rackets.
- Install pegs and hooks for folding lawn chairs, patio
umbrellas,
luggage, ladders, hammocks...the list goes on and on. I
personally
love pegs and hooks, especially when you specifically designate which
item goes on which hook; the more clearly you define a home for every
item in your garage, the easier it will be to keep it tidy.
As you can see, garage wall storage gives you almost unlimited options
when you're trying to figure out how to organize your garage.
