Garden Tool Organizer

If you love to putter in the yard, you need a good garden tool organizer to keep your tools and supplies easy to reach. It will also help keep your gardening tools from getting damaged (or from someone tripping over the rake that you left standing up against the wall).

As with all organizers, you have plenty of variety to choose from.

The main thing, before you go out and look for the perfect garden tool organizer for you, is to do two simple steps:

  1. Sort through your gardening implements and see which ones you never use and which ones are broken beyond repair, and get rid of them. The less stuff you need to organize, the easier it will be.
  2. Once you have weeded (get it?) your gardening tools, look at what's left. How many tall items, like rakes and shovels, do you have? How many smaller items, like planting pots or gardening gloves, do you need to organize? It helps to make a list of everything you want to fit in your garden tool organizer, along with measurements of the space in your garage and the tools themselves, so that when you go to the store, you know what size and shape organizer you will need to fit your stuff.

Then you simply look for an organizer with enough room for your items and that looks pleasing to you. Yes, even in the garage you can definitely set it up so you like the way everything looks.

You can select from a variety of options:

  • Wall-mounted garden tool rack: This is a common type of organizer, and serves many purposes. It gets your tools off the ground, is easily accessible, and keeps everything in one place.
  • Garden tool stand: This is another form of organize that works really well. It sits on the floor and has little slots for you to stand each tool up. It takes up more floor space than the wall-mounted rack, so it depends on how much space you have in your garage.
  • Garden tool cart: You can also get carts with slots for your gardening implements, so you can move it around and take it out with you when gardening. Again, this takes up some floor space, but can be handy if you want to bring everything with you at once.
