Organize Bedroom
Want to check off 'organize bedroom' on your list of to-dos?
Bedrooms were
designed
for sleeping, sex, and dressing (not necessarily in that
particular order).
Bedrooms were not designed to store junk, to act as a library, to be a
mini-gym, or to be your office.
Yet
most bedrooms today have
become multi-function rooms filled
with TVs, exercise bikes masquerading as clothes hangers,
laptops,
piles of books, and all sorts of other odds and ends.
No wonder almost half of the population has insomnia at one time or
another!
When you go to bed surrounded by all that stuff that
stimulates your brain
(and often your stress levels), it's pretty
tough to easily go to sleep and
feel fully rested when you wake up.
In addition, most bedrooms tend to feel crowded, overwhelming, and
messy.
Not the most peaceful way to start and end your day, is it?
Most
of the time when someone says they are disorganized, the
issue
is actually related to having too much stuff that
is no longer
adding value to their life, rather than a problem of
organization.

So start by
clearing out
everything that isn't related to getting dressed,
sleeping, or having a romantic interlude with your sweetie.
Remove everything from
under the bed; from a Feng Shui perspective, things stored
under the bed restrict the flow of energy and abundance in your life.
Clear off the tops of your dresser and tables in your bedroom as well...
most horizontal surfaces in
bedrooms are crowded
with lots of small items, photos, jewelry boxes, knick knacks, and
other small items.
Instead of using dresser-tops as storage spaces,
keep them cleared off except for 1-3 larger decorating items, like
candles or a vase of flowers.
Also consider removing everything from your bedroom
except your bed, night stands with lamps, and a dresser (or remove the dresser as well).
Your
bedroom will probably feel a bit empty for awhile until you get used to
fewer items in the room, but you will also likely notice that you
sleep much better and feel much more peaceful in your bedroom.
And once you've cleared out the clutter,
you will have a LOT less to do in your
"organize bedroom" project, won't you?
