Organizing The Garage:
Sporting Equipment

When you're organizing the garage, designate an area for your sporting equipment if possible. When you keep it one place, it will be easier to see what you've got and quick to grab what you need.

Storing Balls

Store soccer balls, basketballs, baseballs, and footballs off the ground in bins, mesh bags, or on wall-mounted 'claws' that fit one ball each (specially designed for each type of ball).

Storing Hockey Sticks, Baseball Bats

Tall, clean trash cans or other tall bins or baskets provide easy storage for tall sporting items like hockey sticks, baseball bats, and other tall items.

Storing Skis and Snowboards

If you have a lot of equipment, you may want to choose specially designed wall-mounted racks or freestanding storage units designed to hold skis, boards, poles, and boots all in one place.

Storing Helmets and Hats

As you're organizing the garage, hooks and racks work great to store helmets and hats within each reach.

Storing Golf Clubs

Hang golf backs or store in racks so they'll stay upright and allow easy access when you're ready for 18 holes.

Storing Other Equipment

Roller skates and ice skates can be hung from their laces on hooks or racks, or places on shelves in your sporting equipment area of the garage. Skateboards can be set on shelving, put in larger bins, or standing up in racks. Wrist and elbow guards and pads and other smaller items can go in a bin, mesh bag, or wire basket located near the rest of the equipment.
